Moonlight lady at Maraetai

Silhouette dusk at Maraetai Posted by Hello

4 keen fishermen wannabes decided that it was a good night for fishing 'moonlighting style'. Well, 3 keen fellas and one who was dragged along like a donkey but he gave in eventually. And we were off to Maraetai!

This time it was what I would expect out of a fishing trip. A jetty + enthusiasm = hopeful expectations. Every five minute was a fish to be reeled in as what I would estimate it to be.

Items/incidents which set the mood for a good time fishing under the moon and milky way (yes literally!)
1) a shooting star
2) beacons ahead
3) so called 'Mars' beyond the horizon
4) a radio
5) camera
6) candles
7) beers
8) almost snagging our mates while casting

We were all waiting for the sunset to come along as it was pitch black darkness. As for me, I was really hoping to land a catch just before dusk rises. Alas! Guess it didn't work considering my big a** bait which the boys said I could land a Mermaid with that lure. "Whatever boys! My theory was that "the bigger the investments, the greater the returns". Alas, perhaps next time round.

For more pics of the illuminating night, please head this way. Just ignore the catch by Nick. It was just half or shall I say 'one third' his efforts.

Around me in 26 ways...

This is me:

1) Loves milk but hate it when it expires so soon
2) Will not appreciate it until it is lost kind of person
3) Is always taken to be always joking and taken as a not so serious kiind of person
4) Has been termed as the caped wonder Batman in the past week prior to new years (but almost did a boo boo and fell in the cinema when it was dark) Yes, Batman seemed to have lost his ability to sense in the dark
5) 'Procrastinator extraordinaire'
6) Find it hard to get out of bed lately
7) Frustrated that Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 was shortlived
8) Don't want to be troubled by emotional baggage but that justs comes in a package
9) Has lingering temptations just to try out World of Warcraft and succumb to RPG games
10) Still.... has no access to world news and the world of entertainment
11) Thinks that The Incredibles was up to his expectations and every cent worth his munneigh
12) Feels that Murphy is always stalking and haunting me the whole time
13) Daversatile can't seem to think of anything to get from KL and I'm sure he would have tonnes of items which he wished he had thought of before the plane touches down
14) Thinks that soccer pools is the way to go if you wanna turn a $8-10 into 2500 fold from the pool money.
15) Will miss his wisdom tooth is thinks it's overdue
16) Tried body boarding for the first time in frigid conditions. (This malnourished monkey survived it and thought the cold was bearable until after 20 minutes when he realised that most of the other boys had wetsuits of some form.)
17) Thinks that the waves in Muriwai was huge and intimidating
18) Had his ears all hammered out of his senses by the waves which are of miniscule compared to a tsunami.
19) Gawk-ed at the fellow kite surfers and aspires to be one of them junkies one day (when he gets his wetsuit)
20) At moment of time, if given a choice in front of his eyes, he'd choose a set of kite surfing gears/equipment rather than a Honda Civic EK - or would he?
21) Learnt a new word -

Main Entry: ferĀ·vor
Pronunciation: 'f&r-v&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English fervour, from Middle French & Latin; Middle French ferveur, from Latin fervor, from fervEre
1 : intensity of feeling or expression
2 : intense heat
synonym see PASSION

22) Thinks that there are better things to do with his time like for instance spending it in Borders just reading away
23) Misses the times with his high school mate who offered to chip in for a flight ticket back
24) Thinks that the tsunami is God's message to his people for all the corruption, prostitution and all the shady business and practices that is present in our world today. As how Genial had put it, daversatile believes that it's His hope that the world would unite as one in order to help one another in times of difficulty and chaos and form greater ties and bonds between them.
25) Thinks that 25 is quite a number to behold when thought of as a quarter of a century (Ladies and gentlemen, the winning number is 25, Red!!!)
26) Thinks that he shall stop at 26 as that number is of some significance....

from today that is... ciek ciek ciek...

murphy stirkes again! Posted by Hello

So yeah, I guess I might as well write about what I could gather about this internet blankness symptom if you may call it that (but I highly doubt it) on google and I can't find anything on it. I guess the closest I can make out of it is the Murphy's law regarding that particular moment. One thing I found which was real useful was the calculator to calculate the risks involve and how like/unlikely that something would go wrong.

On whole different topic. I had just heard from my buddy this morning that an acquaintance had just passed away while drunk driving. It makes me think how fragile life our lives can be and how just one silly mistake could change not only your life but also the loved ones around you. I guess it's God's subliminal message that we should make the best out of every second, ever moment and make decisions based on the consequences that it could lead up to. Just talking to his ex now and she told me how it had impacted her though they seperated ages ago.

Some were flying, some were groping Posted by Hello

NYE at Titirangi. The west sure scares me lots when it comes to driving at night. Well. The end of another chapter. *ahem* Just towards the end of this year I realised I was kinda having lotsa lady luck by my side when it came to wagering my money down on soccer, horses or be it pokies. Relax guys, it was just to pass some time. Spend like a few minutes and when I am ahead with $10, I'd usually quit when it came to pokies. Not a compulsive gambler. No way near, no means to and not been meaning to either, that's a fact.

Couldn't catch the fireworks as it was quite a distance into the horizon. Just got home after a nights chat with the posse' who was there just to relive any moments, b00 b00s', topics, incidents and teritorial markings of each and every one that night. Everyone had fun and it was by far one of the best NYE do according to the majority. My vote for that too though this was my first. Quite a big one to set the record for my other new years to come but let's see how that goes.

And YES, I am sitting bored s**tless doing nothing and having nothing to do. Am so tempted to join in the crew for WOW (world of warcraft) but I stil have that tad bit in me just to refuse it for the moment now. What other stuff can I do online? I think I have a symptom, it's the symtom whereby;

1) whenever I'm out without the facility of the internet, I have lots to browse surf and ideas to pass time.

2) and whenver I am home or elsewhere with the facilities to do so, my mind just goes into complete blankness. And I mean C-O-M-P-L-E-T-E! Yikes! Hey! I have an idea now. Maybe I could google that symptom to see what I can dig out about that dysfunction shall I put it? "If you wiggle, it's time to google!"
